    New Implementation of SAP

    Elopak goes for harmonization and standardization of processes with single company wide SAP ERP system.

    Objectives

    The Main Objective was the international harmonization and standardization of end-to-end processes to enable efficient growth and furthermore to build a foundation for existing and future digital business opportunities of ELOPAK.One important element to streamline the administrative processes was to establish the principal toller agent model. The Principal hereby owns the goods and these are sold through a central sales department. This model simplifies the administration of the flow of goods since the owner does not change when the goods are moved to a different production location.

    Solutions

    This SAP ERP implementation consist of a single company-wide business ad-ministration system. This set-up ensures that the internal administrative burden is reduced and that support functions can be centralized such as master data maintenance, accounts payable, forecasting and that company-wide activities such as reporting, treasury, HR can work from a single platform.

    • New implementation of SAP Business Suite on HANA with S/4HANA Finance Functionalities, SAP SCM (APO) and SAP BW
    • Conception and implementation of a custom MES (Manufacturing Executi-on System) solution based on SAP MII
    • Integration with local applications
    • New scanner solution for warehouses for using barcodes
    • New process governance based on ARIS in combination with SAP Solution Manager

    Many tasks will disappear by using unambiguous Master Data and the enablement of intercompany transactions between the Principal and Toller. Internal invoicing and the manual enrichment of master data in different systems will therefore be omitted. In addition, there is the possibility of comparing production processes at product/factory level. This approach will eliminate the tasks that now ensure coordination between the various business units and the consolidation of information to the enterprise level.

    Project and approach

    Scheer acted as integrator and general contractor, responsible for the template design and the build of the solution in SAP and also for the deployment of this template across the various sales and production locations in Europe. Scheer was also entrusted the project governance including resource planning, financial controlling and supplier management and overall program portfolio considering the ELOPAK group IT strategy.
