BCD Travel is the world's third-largest provider of global business travel management and the German market leader in this sector. This subsidiary of the BCD Group is present in 108 countries with around 13,000 employees. What makes BCD Travel unique in its industry is the way in which it combines a global presence with the values of an owner-managed company and over 150 years of tradition. It also covers the entire process chain associated with business travel, from approval to booking and expense reporting.
In order to meet the enormously high security standards of the industry as a service provider in global travel management, it was essential for BCD Travel to completely renew its entire IT landscape. In the first step, the entire SAP landscape - ERP and BW - was transferred to the Scheer GmbH data center. Then the changeover to SAP S/4HANA took place, followed by the migration to Microsoft Azure.
In SAP S/4HANA, BCD Travel has chosen the quintessential real-time ERP software suite for the digital economy. The solution is based on the SAP HANA platform and enables unprecedented improvements. The combination of state-of-the-art in-memory technology and a radically simplified data model makes it possible to obtain information in a matter of seconds and make decisions just as quickly. The migration to SAP S/4HANA was accompanied by updates to operating systems and databases.
We're happy to have found a strategic partner for our digital transformation process in Scheer GmbH with its proven expertise in SAP HANA. As a travel management company, we have very stringent security requirements, and Scheer GmbH has been able to meet them.
